Carbon Management through Negative Carbon Emissions
All UN climate modelling pathways that limit global warming to 1.5 degrees by 2100 assume the widespread deployment of negative emissions technologies. The same will soon be true of pathways to 2 degrees of warming. Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) will be a vital component of achieving net zero goals by counterbalancing difficult to decarbonize sectors like aviation, agriculture, and heavy industry.
The Consecon Foundation will work to accelerate the development of the CDR industry in Canada, supporting the development and commercialization of novel approaches to CDR, the creation of a vibrant Canadian CDR ecosystem, and the adoption of supportive government policies that position Canada as a global leader in this vital area.
